We have a tremendous opportunity for a Java Developer with our industry-leading higher education client in Cambridge. In this six month contract role, you will be tasked with leading the re-writing of a small legacy application.

We will accept corp to corp or w2 contractors. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Responsibilities of the Java Developer:

  • Collaborate to develop web-based applications in line with stakeholder expectations
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with developers, designers, and project managers
  • Participate in software development within an Agile environment

Requirements of the Java Developer:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on web application and services development with Java, Spring, and related technologies
  • Experience developing mobile-friendly web front ends using JavaScript, CSS, and related technologies
  • Experience with modern Java frameworks: Spring, Grails, Groovy
  • Experience in Amazon Cloud Services, such as EC2 and RDS
  • Working knowledge of DB systems like Oracle and MySQL
  • Ability to integrate with and manage APIs - REST, SOAP
  • Experience in an Agile development environment preferred
  • Familiarity and experience with Web Accessibility standards
