Job Description

Our Client is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic scrum master. The primary responsibility of this role is to be a servant leader and coach for up to two Scrum teams. This person will help educate the team in Lean-Agile, Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ensuring that the Scrum/SAFe process is being followed. They also help remove roadbloks, and foster an environment for high-performing teams, continuous flow, and continuous improvement.

Expected Responsibilities:
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of retribution, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
  • Use servant leadership to help self-organized teams mature and achieve a sustainable pace of work.
  • Coach the Product Owner(s), Development Team(s), Technology and Business Leaders on Scrum/SAFe values, principles and best practices.
  • Minimize outside interactions with Scrum team to help reduce distractions and increase the value created by the team.
  • Remove team and department wide impediments.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
Qualifications
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for 2+ years for an IT development team that is applying the Scrum principles, practices, and theory. Experience in data and/or insurance industry knowledge is a plus
  • Proficient and varied knowledge of Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test-driven Development, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Burn-down Metrics, Velocity etc
  • Strong communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Ability to facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and mentoring
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban etc.
  • Experience with SAFe strongly preferred
