Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Vulnerability Engineer with our industry-leading client in Washington D.C.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a [Public Trust/Secret/Top Secret] Clearance. Responsibilities of the Vulnerability Engineer:

  • Responsible for supporting the needs of the Compliance and Vulnerability Management Program through their standard lifecycle phases.
  • Ensure that all compliance and vulnerability management systems and services are performing within set guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory and assets, assessment and data analysis, ticketing/reporting and findings remediation recommendations.
  • Create risk and controls assessments, audit support, as well as updating program vulnerability management documentation.
  • Fulfill assessments, prepare reports, and conduct read-out calls with the appropriate teams to review each vulnerability and provide mitigation/remediation solutions.
  • Responsible for identifying and remedying risks. 
  • Liaison directly with Operations, Enterprise Risk Management and Infrastructure teams to create and maintain compliance standards that meet security control objectives.
  • Configure, monitor and utilize compliance and vulnerability management tools (Tenable Security Center, Acunetix, Retina, etc.)
  • Ensure team efficiency by monitoring security incidents, enabling new security features or technologies, identifying improvements to existing processes and providing relevant reports.

Requirements of the Vulnerability Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field or 2 years directly related work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years general IT Operations experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of IT/network experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of information security experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of information security operations experience.
